staging the search

Die Inszenierung der Suche ist das allmähliche Herauskristallisieren des Ziels durch Konstruktion von Suche mit unterschiedlichen Phasen.
(Aussage eines Schülers im Projekt uncertain states)

The staging of the search is the gradual crystallization of the goal through construction of search with different phases.

RESEARCH / FORSCHUNG
Die Entwicklung einer forschenden Haltung, in der die Frage den Suchenden finden kann, gelingt nur, indem Subjektivität provoziert und ernst genommen wird.

Anke Abraham 2014

The development of an inquiring attitude, in which the question can find the seeker, succeeds only by provoking subjectivity and taking it seriously.

Research in art or researching art in different contexts and with different target groups is a highly complex and therefore also diversely discussed topic and field.

For us as T-LAP it is important to state simplistically that in our work the staging of search is of particular importance. The goal is to find answers from a subjective perspective to questions that the searcher might only clearly encounter within the process.

The process diary as a method according to ANKE ABRAHAM.

In her contribution on the topic of "Organization and the New", Anke Abraham presents her concept of the process diary as a "scientific method for reflexivizing the development of innovative programs".

There she points out the "high-level correspondences" between the self-reflexive and the aesthetic attitude of cognition and names as constituting elements the conscious subjectivity inherent in the researcher and a process of cognition that "knows how to turn and question things back and forth with all available means "

As an important tool in our artistic or aesthetic practice, we have developed our own forms of recording the development processes for detailed project documentation over the last 20 years. As a performer with professional stage experience as well as a faciltator and director, we have a biographically shaped relationship towards ways of cognition based on artistic or aesthetic design.

For our and work and artistic approach, the following questions are representing important aspects

1. what is the meaning and difference between artistic research or aesthetic and performative research as research types?
2. what is the relationship between these types of research?
3. Which research fits to the goals of Cultural Education?
4. which role could aesthetic or artistic research play for the (further) development of further education formats in Arts Education?

The focus is especially on naming significant characteristics of the research types in the sense of a "milieu" to be described for the research activity. Building blocks of research design are sought as framing conditions. These include, among other things, the underlying "thinking style" of the researcher, in addition to didactic considerations.

The term milieu stands [1] for the totality of natural and social living conditions and [2] biology: living environment of a living being. The term names influencing factors and designates a spatial component with the "living environment". Within certain conditions and factors a certain space is created. The term milieu is an important conceptual component of my way of thinking for our artistic work and research no matter if we are engaged in professional or non-profesional types of projects.
